Well, after humming and hawing for a while, I’ve finally decided to add a Dagger Nomad to my fleet…should be arriving next week…can’t wait!

I paddled a Dagger CFS for a wee while and loved it. Then I moved onto a Wavesport Diesel 75, and whilst that’s a great boat, I nonetheless felt I really needed a bigger volume creeker for winter paddling, so I’ve gone back to the Dagger family and joined the Nomad posse!

Well, after a last minute decision to go for my Level 2 assessment last week, I’m pleased to say that I passed!

There’s a mountain of paperwork involved and it’s far from a walk in the park, but most certainly worth all of the work.

Now, onwards to Five Star training…

Only 44 days until I head off with a few other paddlers from Inverness Canoe Club to tackle the Soča river in Slovenia – can’t wait!

Currently dusting-down my summer paddling gear and ordering a few new goodies for the trip…
